Leading Through Teaching
Addiction Medicine Fellowship Overview
The fellowship program at River Oaks provides training for physicians who want to subspecialize in addiction medicine. Fellows participate in a series of clinical rotations to familiarize them with the full spectrum of addiction treatment medicine from inpatient medical detox to residential and outpatient care.
By working closely with the program’s faculty leaders who are also doctors at River Oaks, fellows gain the knowledge needed to effectively diagnose and treat the disease of addiction. At the conclusion of the program, fellows are eligible to sit for the American Board of Preventive Medicine Examination in Addiction Medicine.
