Neel Patel, MD, is double board-certified in General Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry, with extensive experience treating mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses. He takes an individualized, evidence-based approach to care, with a focus on improving each patient’s overall quality of life.

Dr. Patel earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and his medical degree from Ross University. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and went on to complete a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at the University of South Florida.

During his training, he received the Addiction Psychiatry Award for excellence in patient care and the PGY3 Neurology PRITE Recognition Award, and served as Psychiatry Resident Addiction Treasurer.

Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and exploring new food spots. A self-proclaimed foodie, pizza is a favorite. He’s also an avid sports fan, supporting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rays, and Lightning (while cheering on the Miami Heat).
