Tampa Bay Mental Health Treatment: Inpatient Program Expands Access to Care

On World Bipolar Day, our team, partners, and community members came together for a dedication ribbon-cutting ceremony for our Primary Mental Health program. River Oaks has served the Hillsborough County community for over a decade and recently expanded our coverage to include primary mental health treatment.
The ribbon-cutting was a moment to reflect on where we’ve been, recognize the work happening today, & reaffirm our commitment to the future of care in our community.
Ongoing Commitment to Mental Health Care in Tampa Bay
Growth is not just about getting bigger. Sometimes, it means renewing our dedication to the people and community we serve.
Since we first opened our doors, River Oaks has helped people heal from substance use and co-occurring disorders. And that mission remains. By expanding into primary mental health treatment, we now provide specialized support, proven therapies, and a complete care environment to help people manage and recover from untreated mental illness.
Florida ranks near the bottom nationally in terms of mental health care access and 43rd for the number of mental health providers. Our program at River Oaks helps close these gaps by offering proven, high-quality treatment. We give people across the state personalized care, quick access to services, and caring support from our mental health professionals.
“Untreated mental illness comes with a host of risks, including an increased likelihood of substance misuse and addiction. Our team saw the critical need for early access to the right level of care and created this program in response to that need,” said CEO EJ Boschert.
Mental Health Treatment in Tampa
River Oaks offers structured inpatient care for people with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD. Our program is for those who need more support than outpatient care provides but are not in crisis. The mental health program helps patients stabilize, begin treatment, and build coping skills in a safe, supportive setting so they can work toward recovery and greater independence.
