Tripp Smith Joins River Oaks as New COO
In March of 2022, River Oaks welcomed Hoyt “Tripp” Smith as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Smith comes to River Oaks with an abundance of experience (more than 20 years) in the healthcare industry and is eager to begin working with River Oaks staff to continue to set the industry standard for excellence in the addiction treatment space.
Smith’s time working in acute hospital settings has brought him face to face with the disease of addiction and the related consequences. “Increasingly, addiction is a disease that’s affecting more and more people,” Smith said. “We’re continuing to see record-breaking numbers of overdose deaths, and it’s very evident that a lot of people need help.”
Before joining River Oaks, Smith served as the CEO of Encompass Health Largo, an inpatient physical rehabilitation facility in Florida where he managed all company operations while ensuring high-quality medical care to all patients. Smith brings the same high standards to River Oaks where he will manage all day-to-day operations while continuing to help River Oaks, a leading provider of addiction and co-occurring disorder treatment in Tampa, FL, set the bar for patient care.
River Oaks CEO, Jeff Turiczek is thrilled to have Smith join River Oaks, stating that “River Oaks has gained a number of distinctions over the years, and to have someone of Tripp’s caliber in addition to our exceptional clinical and medical team further establishes the facility as a premier treatment center.”
